Blog Fog

So I've been thinking about stopping this blog. Long ago, I had another blog. I loved it. I loved the community of people who also had blogs, and we kind of "blogged together". I had a thing that I called Weird Object Friday, where people took a picture of something weird that they saw out and about or in their homes. It was great fun. I had a contest to identify a flower that popped up in my garden one day. The prize was a pair of my knitted socks. Other blogging friends had great blogs, and I loved to catch up with them. Now, I feel like a loner in this blogoverse. It's just a different world for me now. I don't know if I have the energy to drum up traffic on something like this. How do you even do that? So, if you're out there, I appreciate you stopping by. But if I disappear one day readers, it's because I feel like this is a microscopic voice in a very big internet universe. And like a tiny little sun, this blog might just burn out.

  1. Please don't burn out. Hang in there. Growth takes time. I'll give you a little shout out the next time I post on my blog. Let's see where this goes.

  2. Hi, please don't stop! I just found you. Dee sent me over tonight. I just finished reading ALL of your posts and I love your sense of humor and the yarn bombing and the baking and the flank steak and your husbands sweet tooth. I could go on but you get the picture.
I love Dee and her sweet kitty Giroux too. Blog pals are getting me through this entire caronavirus thing. Hang in there. More people will come. I'll give you a shout out on my blog next time I post. It's usually only once or twice a week and I just posted today so don't leave if it takes me a few days! :-)
    Blessings,
    Betsy

  3. Hello, I just found your blog after visiting Dee. The great thing about blogging is your blog topic can be all most anything. I love nature and travel. I hope to see you continue. Enjoy your day, have a happy Easter weekend!

    1. Thank you. I love nature as well. I see that you went to Blackwater. Great pictures! I grew up spending my summers at my Grandmother's in Easton, MD. I know the area well. I also am a nature lover and like to take photos. Your photos are really good.

  4. Hello! Welcome to Blogland! Hang in there. You will find many, many rewards here along with some of the nicest people you will ever not meet in person.
One thing you can do to drum up more readers is add your blog to your Ravelry account and then comment on perfect strangers projects. I used to do 10 a day when I first started my blog. It's like fishing lol.. Out of curiosity they will look you up, see your blog and check it out. Some will make you a friend and then the next thing you know you will have built a community. Also commenting on others blogs will get you traffic as they will comment back on yours out of politeness.
Btw...I'm Araignee from Araignee's Tangled Web and I post every day. I'm adding you to my blog roll. I used to have it on my page but Blogger ate it so now I have to go to my dashboard to see it. Sigh. I love my blog but Blogger can be a pain.

  6. Good morning - I came over from Dee’s blog and so excited to see you yarn bombing. I have been wanting to do this but I am not sure how to start. Any advice?

    1. Thank you for visiting my blog! As far as yarnbombing, I use big needles and try to use heavier yarn. Kind of limited, because right now I'm using leftovers from my stash. I kind a rectangle in the evening, and seam it up on the tree in the morning. I try to add a piece every day.

  7. You know, it is easy to be isolated no matter what the rest of the nation (world) is doing. It is a great way to share and inspire and encourages others--join in with the circle of friends from Dee's blog and you will have a ready made circle of friends just waiting to include you! We look forward to hearing from you and seeing how you create to get through this challenging time!

  8. Hello - like others, I took my "orders" from Dee to come over for a visit. I have enjoyed reading through your posts, and hope you will keep on blogging. Sometimes it's like yelling into a void, but it's better than yelling at someone near you.

  9. You have a good friend in Dee. And now you have a Community. Stop by our blogs and comment, and see who comments at each place. Read there, too, and comment on the blogs that interest you. Pretty soon, you'll have lots of Virtual Friends to chat with. Welcome!

  10. I don't have a blog but I love reading them on a daily basis, please keep blogging, your yarn bombing is so much fun to read about. I love the idea but my apartment complex would frown on it. and your baking, a girl after my own heart. especially frosted brownies, it is a weakness here for sure. Hang in there --we'll be supporting you along the way!
