Today's addition to the tree. Some color, but not a whole lot of creativity.
We went to the grocery store a 6 a.m. There were a few others there. No flour was to be had, so my baking might slow down. I have some left, but could use another bag. Ah well, we have a home and food. Some small sacrifices are inevitable in this strange time.
I put a pork tenderloin in the crackpot with some Asian style marinade and one sliced onion. Also added a garlic blend from my spice rack. It was husband approved, and we can get 2 more meals out of it. I froze a third for later.
Ice cream was pretty much sold out too, but I scored 2 small containers of gelato. I warmed up some frozen berries and sprinkled some magic stuff on top.
Magic stuff....
This stuff is so good. It comes in a grinder and it lasts forever. It's good sprinkled on sugar cookies, too. Kind of pricey but lasts a long time.
Tomorrow, meet Bella.
Oh, the bombing is coming along nicely! The spice in the grinder looks great-I could almost smell it!

Thank you for the pattern! I'll check it out!
DeleteThey are great. I usually go there when on vacation in Rehoboth. There's one in Annapolis, which is pretty close to me. They are worth the trip! Love Vic's Garlic blend, too.

ReplyDeleteThat pork sounds delicious!
ReplyDeleteIt was a bit impromptu, but came out nice!
DeleteThat ice cream looks amazing! We could only get a container of plain vanilla in our last delivery and we've got nothing to put on it. That topping sounds so yummy. If I ever get out of here I'll have to look up that shop in Annapolis.
ReplyDeleteIt's worth it. They are a bit pricy, but the grinders and the spice blends seem to last a long time.
DeleteYour dinner and the ice cream look delicious. I'm wondering if that is the same Spice and Tea shop I visited with my daughter in Annapolis by the Naval Academy at the bay. She lived in Edgewater for a few years and I loved visiting the shops by the bay.
ReplyDeleteI didn't like the traffic in that part of the country but I loved exploring around the area. A give and take I guess.
You asked who the little girl was in my post. That's is my oldest daughter Mandy's, (see above), little girl, Piper. She's the sweetest granddaughter ever. She still lives more than 1500 miles away from me but we FaceTime and share photos most every day.
I hope you have a wonderful Saturday.
Blessings,
Betsy
Yes, there is one in Annapolis. It probably was the same chain. I can relate to the distance between grandchildren. Mine live on the west coast. I'm on the east coast. Thank goodness we have FaceTime, eh?
DeleteAnother fun addition to your tree.
ReplyDeleteI'm flummoxed by the flour shortages in some areas. Here in Northeast Ohio (NEO), we're not seeing that.
I have a friend in Calvert County, Maryland. We make it into Annapolis when I go and visit her.
I don't understand it, either. And there is absolutely no yeast, baking soda or baking powder. It seems that everyone has become a baker and bread maker around here. Annapolis is nice. I have friends there, and like the shops.
DeleteThat ice cream looks delicious. I'm confused by all the various shortages. some areas have no fresh produce - our stores have tons of it. also, no shortage of flour or yeast here.
ReplyDeleteThe shortages do seem to be regional. I can find plenty of fresh produce here. But no bake Goods. It would be an interesting study.
DeleteI love the yarn bombing you did...and never heard of that 'magic stuff.' I am going to see if I can find it.
